Strummin’ in the City (#76)

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

jason poole, Accidental Hawaiian Crooner, Molokai, Urban Strummer, Strummin' in the City, Kamaka 'ukulele, ukulele, Kamaka

Sickbed sofa bed with all of the essentials--most importantly, my Kamaka soprano (standard) 'ukulele! (NYC 9.18.12)

A lot of folks find it hard to believe that I carry my ‘ukulele with me all the time.

But you never know when you might feel like strumming! And as Pops is always quick to advise: E ho’omākaukau. Be prepared.

Ah… the life of an urban strummer!

(Do you like the ʻukulele in the photo? Check out for some of the best ʻukuleles on the planet!)

    Dear Crooner,
What’s in the blue bag? I must know. It’s killing me. I think I’m going to need it next time I am feverish. Help me to be like the scout I am, I need to ‘be prepared’ at all costs!!
    Hope you’re on the mend,

Hi Jason: (We bumped into each other a while back at June & Robert’s (ZLMC).)
I have Zero musical talent, but if this works, it’s yours. Can you do anything with the Kumbaya song (“Someone’s strumming, Lord, Kumbaya…”, but replace Kumbaya with “mahalo”? Hope it works.

  3. Jason Poole says:

Aloha e NoHo! The bag has Sunchips in it. Something soothing about that whole grain taste… On the mend, indeed! Mahalo for the good wishes. xo

  4. Jason Poole says:

Aloha e Alan! I am so happy to hear from you! And I think you may be fooling yourself–a suggestion like that shows that you DO have musical talents! Mahalo for that, my friend. Hope to be back in Chicago sometime soon…
