Strummin’ in the City (#35)

Tuesday, October 4, 2011

central park, bowling green, kamaka, ukulele

Kamaka 6-string tenor (Lill'u) 'ukulele at Central Park's Bowling Greens. I'll bet lawn bowling and 'ukuleles go together beautifully. (NYC, Sept.2011)

A lot of folks find it hard to believe that I carry my ‘ukulele with me all the time.

But you never know when you might feel like strumming!

And as Pops is always quick to advise: E ho’omākaukau. Be prepared.

Ah… the life of an urban strummer!

(Do you like the ʻukulele in the photo? Check out for some of the best ʻukuleles on the planet!)

If it were up to me, I would “permit” you to “play” your ukulele wherever you feel like it!

Have you ever seen the sign on a chain-link fence that reads ” Posting signs on the fence is forbidden” – !

There’s another that is paraphrased “No Soccer playing in the picnic area – Soccer may be played on the archery range”…!!

    Better watch out!
